about

Canon-Engine is a system developed by writers, producers, and systems-developers who believe that AI will raise the bar in professional storytelling, not remove it.

As creative work accelerates and generative tools reshape the process, Canon-Engine provides a clearer way to explore ideas, collaborate, and build worlds without losing authorship, coherence, or intent.

Canon-Engine is an intense effort to give professionals the structure and confidence they need to create at a higher level in the generative era.

the team

Canon-Engine is led by two long-time collaborators: Michael Duggan, a writer–director whose work has lived across film, television, and narrative development – and Robb Bush, a systems-designer with decades of experience delivering advanced applications and infrastructure. Both have spent their careers grappling with how worlds are built, expanded, and protected.

Canon-Engine is the product of that shared frustration and shared optimism – a belief that storytelling in the generative era can be more coherent, more defensible, and more powerful than ever before.

Michael Duggan
Michael Duggan’s career is rooted in seminal television, starting with production roles on the highly influential series Hill Street Blues and Miami Vice. He launched one of television’s longest-running franchises, serving as Supervising Producer and Head Writer for the first two seasons of Law & Order. Duggan’s creative leadership continued as he created and executive-produced Earth 2 (NBC/Amblin) and C-16:FBI (ABC), and executive-produced the Secret Agent Man remake for Sony. He is currently a Partner at Grosvenor Park, a film and television finance company in London and Los Angeles, where he is responsible for sourcing and vetting every project on the financing slate.
